Today I finally got a hold of a friend of mine and confirmed that we are indeed going to the Death Cab for Cutie concert later this month. I can’t wait! I saw Death Cab last October and they were amazing. I love Ben’s voice, both live and on their albums. It’s beautiful, and when they’re playing live it has this almost rough quality to it that I really like.

Anyway, I’ve been working on my fics lately. I will perhaps upload character profiles or some other supplemental thing for Ties of Blood and Loyalty/The Ties That Don’t Break eventually. Those stories are fun to write. I actually have an idea for a prequal now. It would be much more AD/MM centered than the other two. First I must inish TTDB, though.

I’m reading the Oedipus plays for AP English. The language is somewhat difficult, but it’s a really interesting story so far. What a shocking thing to learn though, that you killed your father and married your mother. I don’t understand why his mother [her name is escaping me at the moment] would marry him, but I’m not that far into it, so I guess I’ll find out.

Why, hello first post in nifty new blog.  I’m Emily, and if you’re curious about me, meander on over to the About Me page. To give you a brief idea, though, I’m a seventeen year old soon-to-be senior in high school. I’m quiet, random at times, and utterly determined to reduce my carbon footprint to the bare minimum. I write a lot; it’s just what I do and can’t imagine not doing it.

Being a student, particularly going through the notoriously hard junior year, I was pretty psyched when summer got here. At last, no more finals or chemistry labs or SATs to worry about for awhile. I took the SAT reasoning test in May and got a decent score that I’m satisfied with, so that particular obstacle is behind me. I took the Subject tests earlier this month and wasn’t quite satisfied with the results, so I’m debating whether I should take them over again. I’m only interested in one college that requires the subject tests, though, so I’ve no idea what I should do. Decisions, decisions…

Changing the subject, I have a list of movies I’d like to see. Up, The Hangover, My Sister’s Keeper, and Angels & Demons. The last two are based on books that I count among my favorite things to read, so I’m excited to see them.  I also can’t wait for Harry Potter in July.

Anyway, that marks the end of the first blog. Visit me on FanFiction.net.
